Since 1990, the Collegiate Inventors Competition has recognized and rewarded undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to research, discovery, invention and innovation.
We also celebrate the working relationship between these students and their advisors. Our program encourages entries from all fields of study, because we recognize that the inventive spirit can emerge from any course, any university and any student.
The Collegiate Inventors Competition seeks to promote exploration in invention, science, engineering, technology and other creative endeavors.
Our program, operated by Invent Now and the National Inventors Hall of Fame, serves as a national platform for showcasing the emerging ideas and technologies that will benefit our society in the future.
If you’re selected as one of our finalists, you’ll have the opportunity to present your idea to our judging panel.
This panel will include some of the most influential inventors and invention experts in the nation — National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees and United States Patent and Trademark Office officials. These experts will evaluate your entry and its potential value to society, giving feedback, brainstorming, and encouragement on taking your inventions to the next level of innovation.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top three entries in each division, including:
